Description

The Huntingdon Fire Company No. 1 was organized December 31, 1872 and incorporated January 14, 1874.  On March 16, 1873 Samuel A. Steel, a charter member of the No.. 1 Fire Company, began keeping a record of all fire alarms answered by the No. 1 Fire Company.  When Mr. Steel died in December 1903 the record was continued by his son, Robert M. Steel, until April 8, 1923.  The record has been reproduced in the pages of this book.
