We at the Huntingdon County Historical Society are pleased to announce the start of our 2025 Winter Lecture Series on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Huntingdon County Arts Center located at 313 12th Street in Huntingdon. We are grateful to the Huntingdon County Arts Council for sharing their space with us so that more people may attend our lectures.

Our lectures this Winter will focus on different aspects of the history of agriculture in Huntingdon County. This first lecture will be a panel discussion on animal husbandry and livestock production. The panel will consist of local farmers R. Wayne Harpster, George Lake and John Brockett.

Upcoming lectures this season will include a panel discussion of agronomy and cash crops on Sunday, February 16, 2025, also at the Arts Center. The final lecture will take place on Sunday March 23, 2025 and will feature a discussion of tree farming and forestry. Both of these lectures will take place at the Arts Center beginning at 2:00 p.m. on their respective dates.

We hope to see you at the lectures. If you have any questions, please call us at (814) 643-5449 or send us an email to hchsmail@gmail.com. Lectures are free and open to the public.
