    New Holiday Hours for the Research Library.

    Effective immediately, our Wednesday hours are changing from 10:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. We’ll resume our regular hours after the first of the year. We will remain open on the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Didja know? This full circle story eluded us for almost a year, but now it's back! How cool is this?Last year, the HCHS spent the entire year focusing on Huntingdon County Agriculture and also Barns. Man, do we ever have a lot of barns in our county! Anyways, at the Huntingdon County Fair we had set up our "Barn" in one of the halls. We were raffling off a few items, one of which was a clock made on local barnwood, crafted by David Dietz. When we had the drawing, the winner was Rachel McGargle. After some conversations, we learned that the barnwood that was used for the clock came from a barn owned by Rodney and Johanna Davis. Why is this "special"? Because Rodney is actually Rachel's cousin. Rodney's grandfather, (Rachel's great grandfather), had received the barn wood as payment from a neighbor for his veteranarian work! Talk about keeping it in the family!Rachel was tickled to have won and has since found it it's home in her house. How cool is that? ... See MoreSee Less
